Ingredients: Two Cups Gram flour (Besan), 1 Finely Chopped onion, 1 finely chopped tomatoes, 1 finely chopped capers, fresh coriander, finely chopped green chilli as per taste, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, carom seeds, ¼ tsp of turmeric, ¼ tsp of red chilli powder, pinch of asafoetida, 1 cup water, 1 tsp salt, ½ cup soybean oil

Instructions:

  • Heat a half cup of soybean oiluntil it turns bright crimson.
  • Mix all the ingredients thoroughly before adding the finely chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, ginger-garlic paste, capsicum, and coriander leaves.
  • Besan, carom seeds, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt, and asafoetida should all be combined in a large dish.
  • Make sure the besan batter is lump-free and then add 1 cup of water and stir thoroughly.
  • More water should be added if necessary. The batter for gram flour chilla should be fluid; adjust the water as necessary.
  • Then, heat a nonstick pan or tawa and add a little oil to coat it.
  • Once the tava is hot enough then pour the besan veggie batter and spread it to make the round shape of a chilla or Indian Pancake.
  • Let the chilla cook on one side or till it gets golden brown then drizzle some soyabean oil on top and then flip it using a spatula.
  • Further, cook for another few minutes on medium flame or till it gets golden brown.
  • Once both sides are cooked properly, remove them to the plate.
  • The masala besan chilla with soyabean oil is finally ready to be served.
