The governing council of the university will send a delegation to invite Governor Acharya Devvrat to become its new chancellor. This is the first time a non-Gandhian has been selected for the position.

After accepting Chancellor Ela Bhatt’s resignation, Gujarat Vidyapeeth’s governing council invited Governor Acharya Devvrat to serve as the university’s new Chancellor.
